  • On-Line Health and Safety Teaching Tools for Preschoolers and Young Children produced by Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing.
  • Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4)
    C4, a behavioral health provider, offers services to children, adults and families struggling with emotional trauma, substance abuse, and
    the aftermath of sexual assault.  Through our compassionate and community -based services, we  help individual recover and heal their lives, as well as support families in areas such as parenting so they can help their children live productive lives. www.c4chicago.org
  • AEYC: The National Association for the Education of the Young Child addresses critical issues in early childhood policy and practice. It produces materials, sponsors conferences, accredits programs and publishes the journal Young Child. The website is loaded with information, including practical articles for providers and parents. www.naeyc.org
  • Zero to Three is a national, nonprofit organization founded in 1977 by top developmental experts. The website is fairly easy to navigate, and is rich in helpful information that can be downloaded. Some information is available in Spanish. www.zerotothree.org
  • CSEFEL: The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning is a national center focused on the social and emotional development of young children. The site has What Works Briefs that has 21 topics/handouts in English and Spanish that are easy to download and print. www.cseful.uiuc.edu
  • IEL: Illinois Early Learning Project is funded by the Illinois State Board of Education. The site provides printable Tip Sheets on approximately 90 topics ranging from social/emotional issues to health and safety concerns and curriculum ideas. They are good for providers and families with practical answers to frequently asked questions. www.illinoisearlylearning.org
  • The McCormick Tribune Center for Early Childhood Leadership is dedicated to enhancing the management skills, professional orientation and leadership capacity of early childhood administrators. cecl.nl.edu
  • Resource and Referral Service of Action for Children is the source for a wealth of day care-related information for both parents and providers. It provides help with identifying day care providers and child care subsidies and support for your business including marketing, training and licensure. Call (773) 773-687-4000.
  • The United Way Crusade of Mercy Human Care Services Directory (The Blue Book) lists more than 4,000 agencies that provide human services in the Chicago area.  Listings can be accessed three ways: by agency name, by the type of service provided or by geographic area served.  The cost is $54.95.  to order, call 1-800-897-2491.
